Byron Criddle Byron Criddle, BA(Keele), MA(Leicester), Honorary Research Fellow (and Emeritus Reader in Politics, University of Aberdeen) is author or co-author of a number of books on British and French politics, including: The Almanac of British Politics, (eighth edition), Routledge, 2007 (and previous editions from 1995); Parliamentary Profiles (various editions since 1995); The French Socialist Party: Emergence of a Party of Government, OUP, 1988; and The French Communist Party in the Fifth Republic, OUP, 1994. Since 1983 he has also contributed the chapter on MPs and Candidates in all the Nuffield Election Studies under the authorship of David Butler and Dennis Kavanagh, most recently, The British General Election of 2005, Palgrave Macmillan, 2005.
